Description: Jacaranda jasminoides is an extremely rare deciduous tree characterized by its spreading, rounded crown and delicate, fern-like foliage. During the spring to early summer period, it bursts into a profusion of stunning dark purple/maroon bell-shaped flowers.

Unlike the more common Jacaranda mimosifolia, it does not get covered in a heavy bloom. It bears small clusters of flowers from late spring through fall. Rendering it a sought-after choice for landscaping. As the tree matures, its bark transforms from smooth and grey to fissured.

Flower Period: Spring through to the end of summer

Location: It thrives in well-drained soil and flourishes best in full sun (at least 6 hours) to partial shade. Tolerant of various soil types, J. jasminoides can withstand dry conditions once it has established itself.

Care: Optimal care includes regular watering during the establishment phase and throughout the warmer growing season. Although pruning can be employed for shaping purposes, it is generally unnecessary. With its hardy nature, J. Jasminoides is relatively low-maintenance.

Mature Height: Height typically ranges between 4 and 5 meters, with a width of 3-4 meters.

Due to box limitations and to ensure safe shipment, all trees available for purchase at North Coast Jacarandas may be subject to pruning before delivery. This process encourages the formation of new buds, facilitating the successful establishment of your tree upon arrival.
